Grandma Ann + Cuppa.

My Grandma Ann was born and raised in Liverpool, England. I knew her better when we visited her cozy home in Wooster, Ohio.

We’d snap peas from her backyard garden on her screened-in porch, and she’d make us her famous cheese “toasties” (grilled cheese sandwiches, which you’ll see on our menu).

When my siblings and I were antsy or restless on car rides, she’d point out the window and tell us to look for the bunnies. She would wear a plastic bonnet over her hair in the rain and laugh even when she didn’t get your jokes.

She smelled like baby powder, and her hugs would make you feel warm & safe - like everything would be okay.

Beth + Cuppa.

Grandma Ann made English tea, which quickly became a normal part of my life. After several visits to England, I found that I loved the tradition of an afternoon “cuppa” (cup of tea). Everyone would pause in the afternoon for tea, often with cream & sugar and maybe a biscuit (cookie) or two.

Born & raised in the States, I fell in love with coffee. I first became a barista in 2010, and my love and appreciation for high-quality coffee and community connection have made it a profession I continue to return to.

For many years, I have worked in marketing. This has allowed me the space for creative thinking and helped develop my business and management skills. Years in front of a computer screen made me long for real, in-person connections. And I realize now that others feel the same.

By combining my love of England, coffee, tea, community, and connection, I created Cuppa in 2024.

Welcome. Stay a spell. Look for the bunnies.
